Drucker Center Plaza
Working with the international architecture firm Anshen + Allen, we designed the streetscape and entry landscaping for the building that houses the Peter Drucker School of Management, the business school for the Claremont Graduate University. The landscaping had to coexist easily with the residential character of the surrounding neighborhood.
A new sunken plaza opens the building's lower level to natural light and provides pedestrian links to the adjacent facilities at Scripps College. It connects to the rest of the vast Claremont campus by both a stairway and an ADA-accessible switchback path that fans out from the building like a nautilus. In the interstices between each sloping switchback, we planted a selection of aromatic, drought-resistant shrubs and grasses.
